I Know

I know it's been a while since I have posted some original material. I had several pots on the stove and they needed attending to. I also have been doing a lot of reading. I have finished several books in the last month, they have given me some energy and a more focused direction.

I will have a major announcement on May, 1 2007. Some changes in my life will be happening and I want to keep you in the loop. The next 2 weeks will be a test of my patience, my strength and my tenacity. I hope you will forgive my absence and give me just a little more time. Things will come clear soon, until then.

All the best,
Byron

PS
Here is a little Melinda Dolittle from American Idol 6. My pick to win it all.

There ain't nothing i can do
    Or nothing i can say
    That folks don't criticize me
    But i'm going to do
Just as i want to anyway
And don't care just what people say
If i should take a notion
    To jump into the ocean
    Ain't nobody's business if i do
If i go to church on sunday
    Then cabaret all day monday
    Ain't nobody's business if i do
If my man ain't got no money
And i say "take all mine, honey"
    Ain't nobody's business if i do
If i give him my last nickel
And it leaves me in a pickle
    Ain't nobody's business if i do
But i'd rather my man would hit me
Than follow him to jump up and quit me
    Ain't nobody's business if i do
    I swear i won't call no copper
If i'm beat up by my papa
    Ain't nobody's business if i do
    Nobody's business
    Ain't nobody's business
    Nobody's business if i do
    -Billie Holliday

Hey Byron, care to share the books you have been reading that have inspired you? Thanks.

    Thanks for asking.

I re-read, Before Night Falls the autobiography of gay Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas, describing his life in Cuba, his time in prison, and his ultimate escape to the United States.

I also re-reead, The Four Agreements by Miguel Ruiz. I first read this book in 2004 and it made a huge impact on me. Here are the Agreements and thier meanings.

    1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

    2. Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

    3. Don't Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

    4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

I also finished My Life by former President Bill Clinton. It was cool to read the behind the scenes of history. I'm a political junkie and I love Bill. The book was an easy and fun read. Boy is he long winded.

I also read The Art of War, a Chinese military novel written during the 6th century BC by Sun Tzu. Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it has long been praised as the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time. The book is amazing, you can apply the strategies to any aspect of your life!

Byron I'm very honored that You have now the knowledge about what We ( Gays of Cuba ) went thru. Reinaldo Arenas was a great Cuban who suffered the Castro regimen in His own skin. I know, I was there being oppresed at age 17 just for being Me. Thank You for Your interest in Arenas work and I wish you ACHE!(Yoruba) in your future endeavors.Angel Lazaro from Long Island, NY.
